a walk through the forest

these are mini-booklets of a snippet of my portfolio. there are 2 designs for the covers and they were cut from linoleum block and letter-pressed onto colored cardstock paper and they smell good like fresh letter-pressed ink. they're bound as one signature and stitched together with silver string that adds a little sparkle.

the end.

and the beginning...

this is the production lab that is my room floor. the first time i made the books, it took a while to figure out how it will all come together with the layouts and binding, but the 2nd time around, they were much easier and faster to produce. i think i'll be making a lot more books in the future

when spores grow larger than life...

beginnings of a mushroom city invasion

i had to research mushrooms for a project which made me go down to ground level and smell the earth and really look at the world at our feet. i take for granted the beauty that lives on a micro level that i surpass every day and have to remind myself to stop. and look. really look and observe. and enjoy

i love how mushrooms spread rapidly, appear mysteriously, are quite ephemeral, can be medicinal, and are delicious.

Wanderlust

If dreams are a collection of stories created by the subconscious, then my dreams are manifesting into my conscious without my knowing...

i'm too much of a dreamer sometimes..
