a little update..

Time Machine
Acrylic & Gouache on Rives BFK

This piece will be in the upcoming show at Gallery Nucleus starting this saturday. The show is a tribute to the Beatles so all images will be inspired in some way by the band. The first thing that usually pops into my mind when i think of the Beatles is a yellow submarine. I've also always loved the song Across the Universe. Those were my inspirations for this piece along with psychedelic colors from the 60s and 70s and tripping out, literally, into space...

Gallery Nucleus
July 7, 2012 - July 29, 2012
Opening Reception: July 7 // 7pm - 11pm
$5 Admission // Free if you dress up in 60s style fun ;)

My favorite Beatles song though is Yesterday. I always sang it on our karoake machine back in elementary days and I had the Boys II Men version on repeat for the longest time. I'm drawn to its melancholy bittersweet melody

I love it! The colors are beautiful and I love the surreal effect "yellow submarine" and "across the universe" have when mixed together. Great artwork!
